This little widget reaches out to a remote server to get the visitor's IP address. The server responds data packaged in a JSON object. The text is deciphered and displayed for the user's perusal. But wait, a word of caution! While I, the humble widget, am as virtuous as can be and store not a trace of data, the service I've engaged with might have different intentions. So, dear user, proceed with a measure of caution as you navigate this digital realm.

While an external service contributed to the project, the creation of the splash page and all its related code was entirely my own endeavor.
